Nadia Vella-Taranto
Founder
Nadia Vella-Taranto is the owner of Nadia’s Performance Studio, which is one of Sydney’s largest and most successful dance studios with a 7 studio complex and over 600 students.
Through her talent agency, Taranto Management, she has helped many students land roles in TV commercials, feature films and professional musicals like ‘Matilda’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
Nadia graduated university with Distinction in a Bachelor of Arts (Acting for Stage and Screen), and has always had a passion for teaching and acting. She is also a director of the Australasian Dance Association (ADA), and loves guiding dance teachers to further extend their skills.
Nadia has two children who have shaped her philosophies on the importance of using different techniques to build confidence in every child. Her aim is to see SET THE SCENE reach children everywhere and help them learn to Think, Create & Participate.
James Martin
Program Co-Creator
James Martin is a Sydney based actor and educator, with a broad range of skills and extensive experience in theatre, musical theatre, short films, and radio.
He trained at the Academy of Film Theatre and Television, earning an Advanced Diploma of Stage and Screen Acting (2015-2016).
James Martin has delivered compelling performances across various mediums, primarily theatre. In radio, James served as the On-Air Breakfast Producer/ announcer for the Macarthur Breakfast show with Ally Redondo on C91.3FM since 2022.
James has been an educator at Nadia’s Performance Studio for a number of years as the Head of Drama. He works collaboratively with all his students sharing his passion for storytelling. During his time at NPS he has staged a number of plays and musicals.
James is thrilled to be co-creating SET THE SCENE as a way of sharing his knowledge and love for acting with kids and teens everywhere.
